Arts of Glaze - 13215 Grant Rd., Suite 800, Cypress, 77429, #832-717-5450. How great can this place be! Sabrina has done an amazing job opening this fabulous little gem out here in Cypress. She is offering a wide arrange of summer activities for kids and she even offers a ladies night! Great place to have your child’s birthday party or even a wedding shower, let your guests paint some plates for ya!

Barnes & NobleChildren’s Story Time - this is the Copperfield location, but please be sure to check locations, times may vary. Great for rainy (or very hot) days!


Bear Creek Roller Rink

Blue Bell Ice Creamery & Waterpark in Brenham - This was fun, the tour was ho-hum but at the end you get a scoop of fresh FREE ice cream, it was yummy! We have yet to visit the Waterpark but we saw it driving in, it looked great! After that you need to head over to The Southern Flyer Airport and Restaurant, aka ‘The Poodle Skirt’ because all the waitresses wear poodle skirts! Awesome shakes and burgers. About 10 minutes away from the creamery. Fried pickles anyone? Best Onion rings in Texas!!

Bowling Thanks to my AWESOME friend (Carrie Rigas) I have been re-introduced to the sport of bowling. Kids love it and so do I! Above is a link to a list of lanes in and around our areas. I suggest you make reservations for evening bowling.

  always fun and great learning for kids. We have been visiting the children’s museum since Nina was a baby and she still loves it. We had her 6th Birthday party at the Houston Museum of Natural Science and it was AWESOME!  Great servcie, cool reptiles, the kids LOVED it! 

Houston Symphony
  Great summer schedule for kids! Click on ‘Sounds Like Fun’ in the June and July calendar. Free admission and very fun!

Ikea
– So not only do the kids have a fabulous play area here, but you get to drop them off, you get a pager, and you can walk around and shop kid-free while they play in an amazing kid zone. Pretty cool!

IT’Z
- 18355 Tomball Pkwy (@ Grant), Houston, 77070. Kids 2 & under eat free! We got here at about 8pm one Friday night and it was perfect timing! No crowds, lots of fun, indoor mini rollercoaster, bumper cars, GREAT party rooms for birthdays.

Learning Express, Cypress Location - Thank goodness for this wonderful place!  Unique toys, birthday regisrty (love that!!), gifts, gift wrap (amen!), STORY TIME, and more!  Kristen has done an amazing job creating a fun and vibrant atmosphere for children and families.  Go have a bite at Newk's then walk next door to enjoy the fun!  Thanks Gonzalez family for the awesome Story Time tip!

Rienzi Storytime Tours
A great find from The Conlees: You can access it through the Museum of Fine Arts. Basically a house in River Oaks and its collection of porcelain were donated to the museum. Reservations are required but the children get a tour of the house with different stories read in the various rooms such as the Ball Room etc. It is from 10-11. I think on Tuesday and Thursdays. Best of all - it is FREE. We really enjoyed it last year. Great way to introduce children to fine art.

Ruckus Room
  (indoor jumping) off Huffmeister and Fleur-de-Lis. Great place! The owners are too sweet! I really like this place because you can bring your own food in AND leave and come back. Great concept!

Space Center Houston
Close to Kemah and Galveston. Be sure to check out all of their ‘behind the scenes’ tour options. I hear the
‘Level Nine’ tour is way cool (age 16 & up), 

Studio Movie Grill – 8580 HWY 6 (@ West Rd.). #832-593-6684. The Copperfield Summer Series offers $1 movies for kids ($2 per adult)!!!  Yes, they are oldies but still...it will get you and the kids out of the house and for a couple of bucks!  WOOHOOTY!

The Home Depot - Kids Workshops are free "How-To Clinics" designed for children ages 5-12. The workshops are offered on the first Saturday of each month between 9:00 a.m. and noon at all The Home Depot stores.

Potter’s Wheel & Gifts - 5419 FM 1960 West (@ Champions), #281-537-8447. How cute is this place?!?!  Go check it out!!!  Make some actual pottery!  Then paint them.  Then glaze them.  Or buy a gift.  Cool!  They offer Kids Summer Programs too!  I likey!

The Woodlands Children’s Museum – 9595 Six Pines Dr., #281-465-0955.  I hear this place is so much fun! Not as big as the Houston location but equally as entertaining. There is a rumor that one might be opening up in Katy as well.

Track 21 Indoor Racing

Weather Museum

Heritage Society Homes

JP Morgan Chase Tower Skyscraper
Want the highest public view of Houston (without being in an airplane of course)? Then grab the kids and head down to the JP Morgan Chase Tower at 600 Travis in Downtown Houston. JPMorgan Chase Tower offers the highest public view of Houston from the Sky Lobby on the 60th floor. This floor serves as an observation floor as well as a transfer point to shuttle tenants to floors 49-59 and 61-75. The Sky Lobby is open to the public during the working hours of 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. The Disheveled Woman and Personage and Birds are also on display in the Sky Lobby. At the base of the building you have restaurants such as Ninfa’s, Pasta Fagoli, etc. Plus the tunnels and shops! (see my Downtown Tunnel System listing)Way fun for something different!

Downtown Tunnel System

George Bush Presidential Library & Museum
- WOW! This place is awesome! Classic film night, Baseball card swap Saturdays, Summer Programs! Oh, and there are books too! Lots of em’!! Worth the trip! We have other fun things to do in this area so please stop in and take a peak!

Mrs. Baird’s Bakery Tour
